Phoenix (real name; Paul Phoenix Marks) grew up with his family in Hertfordshire, England and was very close with his late grandfather, L.A Ferrero. His grandfather played bass in a Jazz band in New York and helped teach Phoenix how to read music and play guitar and piano.

By the age of 17, whilst studying at college, Phoenix started DJ'ing at local venues, bars, clubs and private events around the home counties of England.

Whilst it was fun playing other people’s records, he had ideas for his own, and therefore began producing his own music at 19 years of age.

This saw him working with the likes of Pharrell Williams' record label StarTrack ENT; Ryan Leslie's NextSelection label; YMCMB; Crooked-I from Eminem's Shady Records; DefJam Records, Universal Records, plus more.

Having now moved into the electronic dance music scene, predominantly Deep House, Chill House and D&B, he landed his first big cut by producing the 2014 National Arabic Basketball Championship Official Anthem - Brise d'été (Summer Breeze) which was held in Morocco.

Over the following year of releasing a selection of remix's and original tracks, he reached over 3 million plays on Soundcloud, almost 1 million views on YouTube and an average of 40k monthly Spotify listeners.

Whilst gaining an increase in followers and fans he was able to keep within the top 10 of EDM artists on reverbnation.com and took 1st place to take the crown in edmranks.com Top 100 DJ's/EDM Artists of 2015.

In 2022, ‘BBC Music Introducing’ featured a number of Phoenix’s unreleased tracks on various radio shows, ultimately leading to a 15 minute live session takeover, with Phoenix premiering numerous unreleased tracks, as well as some more popular releases.

Phoenix was selected as a ‘Standout Act of the Year’ and featured in BBC Music Introducing (3CR) Best of the Year Show 2022.

With almost 30 unreleased songs, 2024 is looking to be a busy year full of new music!
